First Look: Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre Shine in DC’s Exciting New Lanterns Series!

As a passionate cinephile, I can’t help but get excited when I share that James Gunn has unveiled the first official glimpse into the Lanterns series, currently in production! Behold, here’s an image showcasing Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. The anticipation is palpable!

Thrilled that #Lanterns has entered the production phase. The upcoming show on HBO and Max from creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, featuring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, promises to be exceptionally unique, as shared by Gunn on Twitter.

As a passionate film buff, I’ve got an interesting observation to share! Although we don’t catch a glimpse of him in his Green Lantern suit, it’s evident that Chandler is sporting the iconic Green Lantern ring.

Why aren’t they wearing their Green Lantern suits?

The explanation for them not donning their spacesuits or being in space is that Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, are currently on Earth, probing into an enigma surrounding an unexplained death in the core of America. The formal summary hints at:

The storyline introduces us to police officers John Stewart and Hal Jordan, who are both from outer space, as they become entangled in a mysterious case involving a murder that takes place in the midwest of America. These two intergalactic enforcers find themselves drawn into a sinister earthbound investigation.

Very grounded series

Gunn talked about the series recently in October at the NYCC.

According to Gunn, Chris, Damon, and Tom have collaborated on this project right from the start. He mentioned that it’s similar to when we initiated the DCU; during the initial weeks, a team of writers were gathered together, and Tom King was part of that group.

Gunn went on to explain, “We were in this room, brainstorming an idea for Lanterns, and then we brought Chris and Damon into the mix. It’s flowed quite effortlessly, feeling very authentic, making it a more down-to-earth series, something surprisingly relatable considering it’s a Green Lantern show. But trust me, it’ll be unlike anything anyone’s ever seen before! I can hardly wait for everyone to watch it on HBO once it’s released.

Who stars?

In addition, the cast features Kelly Macdonald playing Sheriff Kerry, Garret Dillahunt portraying contemporary cowboy William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan in the role of Zoe, and Ulrich Thomsen taking on the character of Sinestro.

Joining the lineup are Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kerry, Garret Dillahunt as modern cowboy William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe, and Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro.

Both versions maintain clarity while using different word choices to express the same information.
