Where To Find Every Pop-Up Camp In The Windward Plains In Monster Hunter Wilds

In essence, what makes Monster Hunter appealing is its structure. You choose which monster to hunt, prepare your equipment, assemble a team, have a meal, and then set out on your quest. This format has been consistent throughout most Monster Hunter games. However, in Monster Hunter Wilds, Pop-Up Camps introduce significant changes to the gameplay.

Instead of constantly returning to the hub and selecting hunts from a list, venture out into the world to discover monsters on your own. You can also rest at any campsites you come across along the way. Notably, in the Windward Plains, there are numerous temporary campsites for your convenience.

What Are Pop-Up Camps?

Pop-Up Camps function essentially as if they were your personal tent at each location. You can embark on quests, adjust your gear, replenish supplies, and perform nearly all other tasks. The main thing you’re without are the helpful NPCs found at Base Camp, such as Gemma or the Provisions Stockpile.

There are two ways of setting up a Pop-Up Camp, which are as follow:

  • Speaking with the representative Felyne at any Base Camp and choosing the location you would like your Pop-Up Camp established from the list of discovered locations.
  • Using the Pop-Up Camp Kit yourself while at a Pop-Up Camp site, calling a duo of Felyne to set up the camp for you straight away.

Just a heads up, if all the campsites in a particular area are already occupied, you’ll need to go back to Base Camp to reset them.

Pop-Up Camps offer great convenience, but they also carry certain dangers. Any creature encountering them could likely damage or destroy them, leaving you with the choice of either waiting for a natural repair or spending Guild Points to fix them instantly.

How Many Pop-Up Camps Are There In The Windward Plains?

Among all game regions, the Windward Plains boasts the highest number of Pop-Up Campsites compared to others. However, even here, you’re only allowed to set up a maximum of five campsites. Most of these campsites are out in the open, but some may be tucked away in difficult-to-reach locations.

In the Windward Plains, you’ll find a total of 13 temporary Pop-Up Camps scattered around. Just keep in mind that some of these camps are rather near each other. To ensure optimal distribution, avoid setting up camps too closely and aim for a reasonable distance between them to cover all areas effectively.

Every Windward Plains Pop-Up Camp Location

In the expansive Windward Plains lies a multitude of Pop-Up Camps, and given its size, it’s only logical that this would be the case. However, locating each one across such a vast expanse can prove challenging, so here are some guidance to help you find them more efficiently.

Area 3: South

  • Safety – Insecure

This camp is smack-dab in the middle of Area 6 and to the west, on the path leading to Area 3.

Area 4: Mineral Cave

  • Safety – Safe

This camp is found in Area 4 along a thin path only the Seikret can navigate and high up in a cave.

Area 4: West

  • Safety – Dangerous

This camp is found directly west of the previous camp in a more wide open area.

Area 6: Valley Hideaway

  • Safety – Safe

This camp can be found in Area 6 as well, but it’s situated further west and in a more secluded area, accessible via the Seikret.

Area 8: Southwest

  • Safety – Dangerous

This camp is found in the large Area 8, in the southwest near the entrance to the desert.

Area 8: Southeast

  • Safety – Dangerous

This camp is also in Area 8, though in the south-east corner by all the honey instead.

Area 9: Lookout Hill

  • Safety – Insecure

This camp is found in Area 9, which is on a small plateau above the Quematrice nest.

Area 10: Southeast

  • Safety – Dangerous

The camp you’re referring to can be found at the southeastern tip of Area 10, right as you approach the entrance to another Quematrice nest.

Area 13: Oasis

This is located right in the very centre of Area 13 by the Oasis.

Area 13: West

  • Safety – insecure

This camp can be found in the expansive Area 13 desert as well, but it lies more towards the western side of the Oasis and is hidden behind some sandy hills.

Area 14: Groundwater Vein

  • Safety – Safe

In my gaming adventure, I stumbled upon this cool hideout nestled within Area 13. To get there, I had to climb up to the overlooking Oasis in Area 13 and find the hidden entrance to a cave. Once inside, the camp was waiting for me!

Area 16: Bone Desert

  • Safety – Insecure

This camp is situated within Area 16, right before the journey leads to Rey Dau’s nest, and it can be easily located by heading in a southerly direction along its specific route.

Area 16: Northwest

  • Safety – Insecure

The camp you’re referring to can be located on the other side, specifically to the north, perched high up on a cliff.
