According to reports, Michelle Trachtenberg was said to be considering a role in the revival of the popular ’90s horror show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. A source close to the situation told Daily Mail that she had been very optimistic about it. Unfortunately, Trachtenberg passed away on February 26, allegedly from natural causes, at the age of 39.

In the fifth season of the show, the actress from EuroTrip, Sarah Michelle Gellar (who starred as the main character), wanted to include her colleague Trachtenberg and brought her aboard. Trachtenberg stayed a significant figure until the series ended in 2003, according to available information. Now, it’s reported that Gellar was eager for the reboot of the show to have Trachtenberg as well.

According to the source, the upcoming sequel is anticipated to miss Trachtenberg’s presence just as much as it needs Sarah. The source also mentioned that both the fans and the actress herself are looking forward to her returning to her cherished role.

Based on reports by PEOPLE, authorities in New York City received an emergency call about a 39-year-old woman who was found unconscious and unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived at the scene and unfortunately confirmed her death without any indication of foul play.

Despite Gellar not having spoken about Trachtenberg’s unexpected and premature death as of yet, the studio behind the Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot, 20th Television, has issued a statement to the media expressing their grief over the actress’s passing.
