Oscar Winner Gene Hackman and Wife Betsy Arakawa Found Dead in Santa Fe Home At 95 and 63 Respectively

Actor Gene Hackman, known for “The French Connection,” and his wife, the classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, both passed away on Wednesday.

95-year-old Hackman and 63-year-old Arakawa passed away at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on a Wednesday afternoon. As reported by Variety, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office found them deceased, but the cause of death remains undetermined.

Officials have confirmed that there appears to be no signs of suspicious activity. Deputies allegedly visited the residence shared by the couple, where they unfortunately discovered their deceased pet canine. The probe remains underway during its preliminary phase, with authorities awaiting a search warrant before proceeding further.

The sheriff shared with the Santa Fe New Mexican that we are currently conducting an initial inquiry into a death, pending approval for a search warrant. He wished to reassure the community and surrounding area that there is no present threat to anyone’s safety at this time.
