Although the general feel of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 might seem routine at times, it boasts some exceptionally intriguing missions. One such captivating episode is “The Mouth of Hell,” which adds a touch of survival horror to Henry’s medieval journey. Regrettably, this engrossing tale can be quite elusive.
In the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, known as KCD2, the side quests are typically brief but delightful, and the Mouth of Hell is no exception. This article will walk you through the location where you can initiate this mission, along with the most efficient route to its completion.
How to Start the Mouth of Hell Quest in KCD2
To embark on this side mission, make your way to Old Kutna, a village situated northwest of Kuttenberg city. Upon arrival, you’ll come across a heated discussion between some townsfolk and a priest, standing near a troubling sight of butchered livestock. Engage with any one of these individuals to spark a dialogue.
I understand their distress about the allegations that demons from a nearby mine slaughtered their livestock. They’re frustrated because the local clergy seems unresponsive. Let me assure them that we will look into this matter as part of our investigation, and hopefully, this will set us on the path to resolving the issue.
Prepare an Offering
After taking on the quest, you’ll be instructed to gather an offering for the devils residing in the mine. Make your way west of Old Kutna until you come across a spacious open area with several huts nestled between rolling hills. Here, you’ll discover a ladder that descends into the underworld; follow it down, and a cinematic sequence will unfold.
Get Out of the Mine!

Following the cinematic sequence, you end up trapped inside a mine with your equipment apparently swiped by a shady figure in stained armor. Proceed through the tunnel until you reach a crossroads. If you choose to venture into the dark tunnel on your right, you can grab some weak Saviour’s Schnapps and a bottle for saving your game if needed. After that, retrace your steps to the intersection and carry on in the direction where you spotted the knight.
At the upcoming crossroads, you’ll come across someone reciting Latin hymns. Grab the torch resting on the barrel and another bottle of weak Savior’s Schnapps tucked away in a basket concealed to your left within a tunnel. Proceed ahead. You’ll encounter a Hunting Sword on a table to your left, and a locked chest on an altar to your right. Carry on through the tunnel to locate a ladder ascending upwards. Look above, and you’ll meet a knight identifying himself as Taras, who claims to be a divine protector.
At the crossroads, take a left turn and continue along the passageway. Soon enough, you’ll spot a chest filled with your belongings nestled nearby. Be cautious though, if you’re rummaging through it while the knight is around, he might grow hostile and attack you.
Near the spot where the treasure chest sits within a tunnel, you’ll discover a stairway ascending back to ground level. Climb up to encounter Father Marian and some local militia members who are anticipating your arrival. Share your experiences with them, and when inquired, share your trust in God. This action will result in receiving 225 Groschen as compensation.
Instead of heading back immediately, consider delving deeper into the mine as there’s a chance you could uncover greater riches.
