Trachtenberg first gained significant recognition when she was chosen for roles in Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete and later All My Children.
Following rave reviews for her character performances in the previously mentioned series, the actress found widespread recognition by portraying the title character in Harriet the Spy. This production debuted in 1996, with Trachtenberg taking on the lead role as Harriet M. Welsch.
