As a devoted movie critic, I’m thrilled to share that Scott M. Gimple is aiming to push the boundaries of the ‘The Walking Dead’ universe even further across the continents. This franchise has already traversed vast territories, with its origin in Atlanta and subsequent journey northwards to Virginia. ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ delved into the West Coast landscapes, while ‘Dead City’ season 2 is seeing Maggie and Negan return to the bustling streets of New York. The Daryl Dixon spinoff has already escalated the action to picturesque France, with Spain now set as the next destination for Daryl and Carol’s survival adventure.
As a fervent fan, I can’t help but ponder if The Walking Dead’s future may extend beyond Europe. Intriguingly, Robert Kirkman Gimple, the mastermind behind the franchise, has hinted at broadening the universe even further. Recently, during the Multicon LA Wildfire Benefit, he shared his vision of taking the series to uncharted territories. His words suggest that a fresh, exciting development is brewing, implying that we might be in for some extraordinary new locations!
We have a project underway that I’m incredibly eager to witness, something we’ve never experienced before. Ideally, I’d like to see it unfold in Tokyo, Africa, and Iceland – it might seem unusual, but our goal is to cover the entire globe because there are stories everywhere around the world.
Additionally, Gimple referred to earlier endeavors aimed at expansion which didn’t ultimately come to fruition, yet offered invaluable learning experiences.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my yearning to venture further into the sprawling world of The Walking Dead, beyond Daryl Dixon’s captivating narrative. I long to encounter other characters, to witness their struggles and triumphs in this post-apocalyptic landscape. We’ve dabbled in various trials to achieve this, crafting some truly engaging tales in the process. Regrettably, these stories have yet to materialize due to one obstacle or another. However, I must admit that my mind’s eye has been treated to vivid glimpses of these spin-off shows, and I am genuinely enthused by what I’ve seen.
As a die-hard fan of “The Walking Dead,” I’ve been following its journey for quite some time now, and with season 11 marking the end of the main series, it feels like we’re stepping into new territory. The franchise has transformed entirely into spinoffs, with shows like “Dead City” and “Daryl Dixon” carving out their own distinctive corners of this post-apocalyptic universe. Meanwhile, “The Ones Who Live” promises to wrap up Rick and Michonne’s story, but there’s a hint that they might reappear in the future.
According to Gimple’s remarks, there might be more global scenarios and an ongoing secret venture in the pipeline. It’s evident that, despite being 15 years since the premiere of The Walking Dead, the series continues to brim with vitality.
