It required significant persuasion for Victoria Beckham to sign up for her Netflix documentary series, and it was her spouse, David Beckham, who ultimately secured her agreement, as reported by Deadline. On Tuesday, February 25, the retired soccer player showcased Victoria’s documentary at the MIPTV Media Market.
In conversation with Bela Bajaria, the head content officer of the streamer, David shared that the “unique” project had been planned for quite some time. He mentioned that obtaining his wife’s approval was not an immediate process, stating, “It took a while to persuade her to agree with it.
Despite finding it challenging to persuade her following the acclaim of his Beckham documentary, he was convinced that he alone had the ability to alter the Spice Girls alum’s decision, and in the end, he managed to do so.
He went on discussing the docuseries, hinting that it would reveal a totally new side of Victoria. This documentary, under his Studio 99 label, is being helmed by Nadia Hallgren, who previously directed Becoming.
The docuseries will delve into Victoria’s pathway to achievement, tracing her rise from global fame as a Spice Girl in the 90s to establishing herself in the fashion world. Labeled by David as one of the “most dedicated individuals” he has encountered, he encourages viewers to discover some unexpected aspects within the series.
It’s possible that many people recognize Victoria from the famous 90s band, but her success didn’t come without hard work; she had been striving for a long time before the Spice Girls significantly impacted her life. The Emmy-winning producer remarked, “I believe it will be incredibly special. It’s incredibly emotional; there’s tension – and the tension is authentic.
In relation to his popular 2023 documentary series, the ex-athlete disclosed that he didn’t feel enthusiastic while making the show, but he appreciated the outcome and the significant influence it had in the end.
