Theatrical Re-Release Details

On April 25, 2025, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is set to make a comeback in cinemas, celebrating its 20th anniversary since its initial release. For a limited time, this special re-release will be screened for one week in carefully chosen theaters throughout the United States and various international locations.

For the first time ever, enthusiasts will have the chance to immerse themselves in Episode III like never before through 4DX technology. This innovative format combines seat movements that correspond with the action on screen, along with over 21 realistic effects such as wind, water, and environmental changes. This enhancement brings a whole new layer of depth to crucial scenes, from the space fight above Coruscant to the fateful battle between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar.

New Poster Art by Matt Ferguson

Artist Matt Ferguson created unique poster artwork for the special event anniversary, showcasing Darth Vader’s ominous mask towering over Anakin Skywalker, representing his transition into the dark Sith Lord. The artwork also emphasizes the lightsaber duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan, as well as warships hovering above Coruscant and a blazing Jedi Temple.

Ferguson labeled this artwork as his intricately detailed Star Wars poster yet, noting the elaborate battle scenes and explosive effects it depicted.

Ferguson explained to StarWars.com that the space battle and scenes on Mustafar are incredibly intricate, featuring far more ships and blasts compared to his other Star Wars artwork. He described it as the film where everything starts to fall apart for Anakin.

The Story of Revenge of the Sith

In the years after the Clone Wars’ commencement, the story of Revenge of the Sith unfolds, detailing the decline of the Jedi and the emergence of the Galactic Empire. Initially protectors of peace, the Jedi now function as commanders in a war against the Separatists. Simultaneously, the Sith put into motion an intricate plot to assume dominion over the galaxy.

Fundamentally, Anakin Skywalker yields to the lure of darkness, transforming into Darth Vader and executing Emperor Palpatine’s order to annihilate the Jedi. As the Republic crumbles, individuals such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda are compelled to seek refuge away from their homeland.

Cast and Crew

The movie features Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman, Ian McDiarmid, and Samuel L. Jackson in lead roles, while Frank Oz voices the iconic character Yoda. Additionally, Christopher Lee, Jimmy Smits, and Anthony Daniels rejoin the cast to continue their roles from previous installments.

As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I can’t help but feel the thrill all over again as I reflect on George Lucas’ masterpiece, Revenge of the Sith. This iconic chapter in the Star Wars saga is now back on the big screen, offering fans an enhanced viewing experience with stunning visual upgrades and the immersive 4DX option.
