As a devoted gamer, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of Monster Hunter Rise, the successor to the blockbuster Monster Hunter World. You might be curious if the evolving gaming landscape since World launched has influenced the game’s offerings, particularly in terms of features like cross-save functionality.
Does Monster Hunter Wilds support cross-save or cross-progression?
Although cross-save is increasingly common among contemporary games, Monster Hunter Wilds will not offer this functionality, as Capcom has chosen to adhere to traditional practices in this regard. Previously, Monster Hunter World and their latest major release, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, did not include the cross-save feature, and it appears that Capcom does not intend to experiment with cross-progression for the series at this time.
With cross-save functionality, gamers can switch seamlessly between different gaming platforms while preserving their game advancements. For instance, if you have the game on both PC and PlayStation, you could use the same account across all devices, making progress in each platform simultaneously. This is a fantastic feature that undeniably benefits players, as it allows for uninterrupted gameplay regardless of the device being used.
If you stick to playing games on a single platform, it may not appear appealing at the moment. However, if you switch platforms in the future, say with the launch of the next generation, and find the game discounted, it would be convenient to resume your progress. Unfortunately, Capcom has chosen not to incorporate this feature, though I can see why as it involves complex technical support.
At least, the positive aspect is that reluctance doesn’t extend to backing crossplay functionality. This is indeed a great addition for individuals who are able to connect with folks across different gaming platforms.
