At the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody certainly turned heads! Acting as the event’s host, Bell brought her co-star from Nobody Wants This up on stage to discuss their now infamous on-screen kiss from the Netflix show.
Brody attempted to demonstrate his preferred co-star status by showing an enlarged image of their on-screen kiss, remarking, “It’s this kiss that sets me apart. No one else has kissed you quite like that.” The actor from The O.C., in elaborating, highlighted his signature gesture – placing his hands on a woman’s face during a kiss.
In my own words, I’d say: “I’m keeping this, no problem! I’ll catch up with you at work, my fellow actor.” (As he exited the stage)
In an awkward turn of events, the actress from Frozen attempted to steer the conversation elsewhere and shut down the projector, but instead, she unintentionally displayed a slideshow featuring her kissing past co-stars. Interestingly, every photo resembled the one of her with Brody. Without missing a beat, Bell swiftly commented, jokingly suggesting it was her distinctive style to do so.
The most enjoyable aspect of the skit was seeing Leighton Meester, Brody’s wife, sitting in the audience as he talked about his kiss with Bell. Fans had a fantastic response to that moment, with one commenting, ‘I replayed this multiple times.’
The first individual expressed, “Leighton is more admirable than me. I wouldn’t fare well under such circumstances,” while another humorously noted that Brody’s touch was what made the romantic scenes enchanting.
The Netflix show “Nobody Wants This” proved to be a massive success on the streaming platform and gained recognition from critics as well. However, the buzz surrounding it grew even louder during awards season! More recently, the romantic comedy has been drawing attention due to the announcement of new actors joining for Season 2.
Among the latest additions are Miles Fowler and Leighton Meester, who is Brody’s wife. This union also signifies a reunion for Bell and Meester since they both starred in the beloved series “Gossip Girl,” where Meester portrayed Blair Waldorf and Bell provided the voice for Gossip Girl herself.
