To enthusiasts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Elizabeth Olsen is particularly recognized for her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff, more famously known as Scarlet Witch. This character was introduced to us in the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which came out in 2014. As a result, she’s been embodying this role for more than ten years now. Her latest portrayal was a voice role in the animated series What If…? The Avengers Assembled in 1602.
Despite Scarlet Witch’s uncertain status in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she is believed to be deceased, Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role in the upcoming four-episode miniseries titled “Marvel Zombies.” In this instance, she will voice a malevolent, zombified version of Scarlet Witch. Interestingly, Olsen claims to have no recollection of recording the part at all.
When a reporter questioned her about her future part, the actress seemed puzzled upon hearing the phrase “Marvel Zombies” during their conversation.
As a devoted fan, I’m reminded of something I believe I encountered a while back, but my memory isn’t quite clear on the details. Frankly, it’s been so long that I can’t recall a single thing about it. The production process for animation is intricate and time-consuming, so I’m unsure when exactly these were unveiled.
According to a tweet from ET Now, Elizabeth Olsen can’t recall her experience providing the voice for the Scarlet Witch in ‘MARVEL ZOMBIES’.

It seems quite plausible that Olsen taped her dialogue well before now, considering the original announcement for Marvel Zombies was back in 2021. This project experienced an extended production timeline, with plans to debut on Disney+ as soon as October 3 of this year – meaning a four-year timeframe has passed since its initial announcement and the scheduled release.
Since the project spans a considerable amount of time, it’s not surprising that Olsen may not recall much about it, particularly since she maintains a busy acting career beyond the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In an alternate universe, the Marvel Zombies storyline unfolds with once-human Marvel characters transformed into the undead. The narrative revolves around a band of survivors who are battling against their now-zombified allies and adversaries. This TV-MA rated animated series, marking Marvel’s first foray into adult content on television, is slated to launch on October 3, 2025, as part of Phase Six in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
