Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s ‘$ome $exy $ongs 4 U’ Debuts at No. 1

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s album, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” made its debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. This means that with this achievement, Drake, also known as “6God,” has now tied Taylor Swift and JAY-Z for having the most number one albums on the Billboard 200 list as a solo artist.

In its debut week, the newest album swiftly climbs to the number one spot by selling 246,000 equivalent albums. Out of this total, 25,000 were traditional album sales. This achievement places Drake among a distinguished group, as he now shares 14 No.1 albums with Taylor Swift and JAY-Z throughout Billboard’s 69-year history. Only The Beatles have more chart-topping albums with 19 to their name. Following this trio, Eminem, Future, Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand, and Ye each boast 11 No.1 albums apiece.

In terms of streaming dominance, “Some Sexy Songs 4 U” by PARTYNEXTDOOR has claimed the top spot, making it his first No. 1 album. This achievement surpasses Kendrick Lamar’s record set with his debut album “GNX” back in December 2024. Notably, this is also Drake’s initial No. 1 album since his feud with Lamar, with his most recent No. 1 being “For All The Dogs” from 2023. His most successful No. 1 album remains the 2016 release “Views,” which ruled the charts for a staggering 13 weeks. At present, Drake is touring across Australia and New Zealand.

This century, Drake and Taylor Swift now share the record for the most number-one albums on the Billboard 200, each having 14 chart-topping albums officially to their names.
