Director Ali Abbasi admitted to inappropriately touching a high-profile figure during the Golden Globes party, as reported, and subsequently issued an apology. In his statement, he explained that he felt immediate remorse for the incident and immediately apologized to the individual involved.

As reported by People Magazine, the director made a too-familiar move during the gathering, however, he later offered an apology to the affected individual.

In the statement released by the media outlet, Abbasi expressed his regret by saying, “I realize that my actions may have made someone feel uneasy, regardless of my intentions. For this, I sincerely apologize.” He also added, “On several instances, I spent time with the individual in question and believed we had a good rapport.

The statement went on, “Spotting him at the Golden Globes gathering sparked my eagerness to rekindle our connection. In a jovial, non-sexual manner, I made an excessive gesture – a pat on the backside. However, I soon understood that I had misunderstood the circumstances.

In that very moment, I felt compelled to express my sincere regret directly, and the next day, I ensured that my apology was echoed by those who represent me, as I wrapped up my thoughts on the matter.

Contrarily to what has been reported, the director clarified in a statement that rumors suggesting his dismissal by the agency were entirely untrue. He maintains that he is committed to owning up to his actions.

In his statement, Abbasi acknowledges that he made a mistake and apologized for it. He also mentions that from this experience, he has learned a significant life lesson.
