As the legal team of Sean “Diddy” Combs gears up for a trial scheduled in May 2025, it’s been reported that one of the six attorneys working on his case has resigned.
As per NBC News’ reports, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ legal representative, Anthony Ricco, has asked to step down from his position.
On February 21, 2025, finding myself in an unenviable position, I submitted my withdrawal as Sean Combs’ legal representative. It became clear that, under no circumstances, could I fulfill my duties satisfactorily while adhering to the ABA Standards for Criminal Justice, a commitment I hold dear.
In his documentation, the lawyer additionally noted that he understands the area-specific guidelines which permit a “request to terminate representation can be accepted and approved solely when there’s compelling evidence provided in an affidavit or other means, demonstrating valid reasons for the termination.
In his continued explanation, Ricco stated, “I’m keeping things concise due to matters concerning the confidential nature of our attorney-client relationship in this case.
Afterward, he further stated that the absence of one attorney would not impact the quality of representation, since there are still five attorneys officially involved. Moreover, if the motion is approved, it won’t postpone the planned timeline for jury selection, trial, or the existing deadlines for addressing pre-trial legal matters.
According to E! Online, Anthony Ricco consulted with Mark Agnifilio, who serves as the lead attorney for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ case.
For those unaware, the musician commonly known as “Bump, Bump, Bump” has been indicted on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through deceitful means, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He has denied these allegations.
