Meghan Markle Has an Open Invitation to Return to ‘Suits,’ Says Creator Aaron Korsh”

Fans who love the TV show “Suits” might not have given up hope that Meghan Markle could once again play her famous character Rachel Zane. During the red-carpet event for the upcoming spinoff, “Suits LA,” creator Aaron Korsh hinted at the possibility of the Duchess returning to the legal drama series.

If the opportunity arises for Meghan to rejoin us in any capacity, she is more than welcome to do so,” Korsh stated. Yet, he acknowledged that incorporating her character into the latest season could potentially prove difficult.

Korsh stated, “In my opinion, considering if Meghan or any other cast members acting in their own roles, I find that idea a bit overwhelming.

As a film enthusiast, I must admit that weaving Meghan or any other original cast member back into the Suits LA universe in a coherent manner seems quite challenging. It’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole; it just doesn’t seem to align with the show’s existing narrative flow. While the prospect of her return is undeniably thrilling, it might not be compatible with the current trajectory of the series.

When asked directly about Markle potentially returning to the Suits universe, Korsh made it clear that she is always welcome. However, he believes it might be too dramatic a break in the narrative to actually make it happen. Put simply, he suggested it could be too big of a distraction from the show’s storyline.

In this new adaptation of “Suits,” premiering February 23rd, the action unfolds within the same universe as the initial smash-hit series. However, it boasts a brand-new ensemble and unique narratives that diverge from the original storylines. The spinoff was revealed following the resurgence in popularity of “Suits” on Netflix, which was originally set in New York City.

In the first season of Suits, Meghan Markle initially played the role of Rachel Zane, a dedicated paralegal who was determined to succeed. Over time, her character evolved into a highly competent lawyer, winning over viewers’ affection. She starred in 108 episodes before leaving at the close of season 7, just prior to her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.

Even if Meghan Markle’s return isn’t imminent, fans of “Suits” can still savor the original show and anticipate “Suits LA” as the next exciting installment in the franchise. Regardless of whether she reprises her role as Rachel Zane, the mark she’s left on the series is indelible.
