Suits LA: Will Meghan Markle Reprise Her Role of Rachel Zane? Show’s Creator Says The Duchess Can ‘Come Back’

In the popular American TV drama Suits, which later became known for starring Meghan Markle (now the Duchess of Sussex), there was a significant role. Could it be that the royal will return to her role as Rachel Zane in the upcoming Netflix spin-off series titled Suits: LA? On February 20, the creator of the show Aaron Korsh discussed with People magazine the prospect of Markle reprising her character.

Korsh acknowledged that it’s a bit overwhelming for him to consider a royal as part of his show, but he’s open to anyone from the original cast rejoining the upcoming spin-off series, even Meghan Markle if she is interested. He stated that if Meghan wants to return under any circumstances, then she is more than welcome to do so.

When questioned about whether the Duchess might be part of the cast for the NBCUniversal series, the show’s creator confirmed yes. However, he acknowledged that, in practical terms, replacing Meghan Markle could potentially lead to an excessive breaking of the “fourth wall” (the imaginary boundary between the audience and the characters).

The new TV series is based on the same world as the initial show, but rather than New York, it’ll unfold in the city of Los Angeles. Originally, Markle was cast as paralegal Rachel Zane during the first season of the original production and departed after seven seasons, appearing in a total of 108 episodes.

The TV show that aired from 2011 to 2019 for nine seasons, where the actress later known as a royal first gained recognition, was her breakout role. Besides playing Rachel Zane, Markle has also acted in films such as “Dater’s Handbook,” “Remember Me,” and “Random Encounters” among others.

2018 saw her tie the knot with Prince Harry and decide to step away permanently from acting to dedicate herself to her new life as a royal. In 2022, they unveiled an exclusive Netflix documentary, sharing insights into their rapid courtship and proposal.

Starting soon, the Duchess is gearing up to debut a fresh reality series about her lifestyle on the popular streaming service, and this show will involve her conversing with famous guests. The series titled “With Love, Meghan” is set to premiere on Netflix on March 4, 2025. Meanwhile, the revival of Suits LA is slated for release on Netflix on February 23, 2025.
