During a recent interview on Access Hollywood, filmmaker Justin Baldoni revealed that pop sensation Taylor Swift had an influential role in choosing Isabela Ferrer for the movie “It Ends With Us.
As reported by Page Six, Baldoni shared that he showed Ferrer’s audition video to both Blake Lively and Taylor Swift, who both agreed on her choice. He expressed, “I had actually shown her casting tape to Blake and Taylor, and they both exclaimed, ‘Yes! She’s perfect!’
During the premiere of the movie where I played a younger version of Lily, portrayed by Blake Lively, I had the pleasure of confirming Taylor Swift’s participation in the project – a dedicated follower of their work.
She admitted she was taken aback when discovering Taylor Swift played a role in her being cast, expressing herself as, “I can hardly believe I’m admitting this, but here goes: Yes, she was instrumental in the selection process!
In her own words, Blake Lively mentioned that she requested Taylor Swift’s approval before using the track “My Tears Ricochet” for both the film’s promotional trailer and its accompanying soundtrack.
During a conversation in August 2024, Lively expressed that they went through the entire experience together, whether it turned out well or not so good. She brought up the limited funding of the movie and expressed gratitude towards Swift for permitting the incorporation of her tunes.
Regardless of their joint endeavors, Taylor Swift found herself caught up in a legal conflict between Baldoni and Lively. In the beginning of this year, Baldoni brought forth a lawsuit worth $400 million against Lively, claiming both defamation and extortion.
The court case mentions a gathering held at Lively’s home, with both Ryan Reynolds and Swift present, during which script changes were talked over. It is claimed that Lively referred to Swift and Reynolds as her “protectors” in a text message, suggesting their backing in her creative endeavors.
Reports indicate that Swift appears to be upset and stepping back from a conflict she finds herself involved in, due to being implicated. The court case is scheduled for March 9, 2026, but it remains unclear if Swift will be required to take the stand.
