The 50th anniversary celebration for Saturday Night Live (SNL) was a glittering gathering, assembling numerous famous personalities to honor the enduring legacy of this renowned sketch comedy series.
At the event, both Ryan Reynolds and his spouse, Blake Lively, made an appearance. This was their initial joint outing in public since Blake’s legal dispute with her co-star and director from “It Ends With Us,” Justin Baldoni, began.
Blake Lively has taken legal action against Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment during the production of “It Ends With Us.” The lawsuit cites instances of inappropriate actions by Baldoni, including his push for an explicit scene and intrusive questions about Lively’s personal matters.
Baldoni is refuting these accusations and has filed a lawsuit against Lively, her spouse Ryan Reynolds, and their representative for slander. The court case is set to go to trial in March 2026.
Regardless of their ongoing legal disagreements, Reynolds and Lively appeared together at SNL’s 50th anniversary special. During the event, Reynolds casually joked about the legal dispute, a move that apparently took Baldoni’s legal team by surprise. Baldoni’s lawyer expressed astonishment over Reynolds’ choice to bring up the sensitive issue in public.
At the same function, Scarlett Johansson, often a Saturday Night Live (SNL) host, was in attendance to back her partner, Colin Jost, a veteran writer for the show, as reported by Hello Magazine. Johansson took part in the evening’s opening act, a reprise of The Lawrence Welk Show, while Reynolds appeared as a guest star later in the broadcast.
Regarding Reynolds and Johansson, despite a common past, they didn’t exchange any public gestures at the gathering. This silence mirrors their behavior following their friendly divorce in 2010, after being married for two years.
After their divorce, both actors have occasionally looked back on their marriage. In a 2010 interview with Details magazine, Reynolds spoke candidly about the anguish of divorce, acknowledging that it causes significant pain. He also expressed his reluctance to marry again due to this experience.
Despite holding a different opinion, it’s a fact that he tied the knot with Blake Lively back in 2012. Together, they have four offspring named James, Inez, Betty, and Olin.
Johansson has openly discussed the difficulties in her marriage as well. During an interview with Glamour in 2009, she admitted, “I’m no expert on what makes a marriage work, or how to fix one if it’s broken.
Later on, she pointed out the intricacies of the interplay among actors, highlighting the possibility of rivalry and the challenges in managing two high-pressure professions simultaneously.
