During the debut of their latest TLC reality show titled “The Baldwins”, Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria openly share about the deep effects that the unfortunate 2021 incident on the Rust film set had, where the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins occurred.

As reported by People, the upcoming episode (scheduled for February 23) will provide a close-up view of the family’s struggles in dealing with the fallout from the recent incident.

In a candid discussion, Alec Baldwin expresses his deep emotional struggles after the recent event. To his wife Hilaria, he confides, “It all feels so unreal. frankly, I find it hard to accept that we are experiencing something like this.

Pondering over his emotional well-being, he remarks, “The last year has been incredibly challenging. There have been moments when I found myself unable to rise from bed, thinking, ‘My children… I just can’t seem to move.’ This is unlike my usual self.

Hilaria points out a substantial drop in Alec’s psychological well-being, disclosing that he has been officially diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She mentions that those near to Alec have all observed his mental health deterioration.

Due to the hardships he’s faced, Alec has begun questioning his continued existence, musing, “Why is it that on this particular day, an incident occurred, yet I remain alive? Couldn’t it have been me who was spared instead?

On October 21, 2021, an unfortunate event occurred on the set of Rust. Alec was handling a prop gun when it accidentally went off, striking and critically injuring Hutchins who later succumbed to her wounds.

Alec claims he never fired the weapon and didn’t know it had live bullets inside. Despite this, he was indicted for involuntary manslaughter in January 2023, but those charges were dropped in July 2024.

The Baldwin family attributes their strong spirit throughout these tough times to their seven children: daughters Carmen Gabriela, María Lucía Victoria, Ilaria Catalina Irena, and sons Rafael Thomas, Leonardo Ángel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David, and Eduardo ‘Edu’ Pao Lucas. They are the source of their resilience during this difficult phase.

Hilaria shared insights on their endeavors to cultivate a joyful atmosphere, expressing that when she observes her children, she notices their diligent attempts to bring happiness to others, although they may conceal challenges they face personally.
