Reacher Season 3: A Thrilling Comeback That Will Leave You Wanting More!

On Thursday evening, the third season of “Reacher” made its debut on Amazon Prime Video, releasing the initial three episodes. Fortunately, it’s starting out impressively.

I appreciate it for its thrilling scenes, strong ensemble, and the comeback of the solitary protagonist Reacher. Compared to Season 2, Season 3 is noticeably better and certainly worth your time. As you watch, you’ll find yourself supporting the righteous characters and opposing the villains. It’s a familiar tale of good versus evil.

In simpler terms, I found Season 3 to be significantly superior compared to Season 2, which I felt was disappointing. The second season portrayed Reacher as rather dim-witted and overemphasized the character of Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, making her appear as the one who always solved problems and dominated others. While she’s slated for a spinoff series, I personally won’t be tuning in.

In the third season of ‘Reacher’, Alan Ritchson resumes his role as the solitary tough guy. Neagley makes an appearance, but it’s mostly through phone conversations. Reacher communicates to her that he doesn’t require assistance at this time. This contrast is what sets Season 3 apart from Season 2, where some felt that Reacher took a secondary role to the ‘team’.

The cast of “Reacher” Season 3 is quite impressive, with Sonya Cassidy’s character being a particular favorite. Although she’s British, she convincingly portrays a tough DEA agent from Long Island/NYC. I’ve admired Anthony Michael Hall since his days on “Weird Science,” and he delivers another solid performance, this time as a morally ambiguous villain with a son. Brian Tee appears to be the main antagonist, with a history tangled up with Reacher. Olivier Richters is quickly becoming a fan favorite, known as the “Dutch Giant.” I’m eagerly anticipating their confrontations. There are some humorous exchanges between them, and Richters brings depth to his role.

Should you find Season 2 of Reacher less appealing, don’t fret! The first three episodes of Season 3 are quite promising and have earned an impressive rating of 8 out of 10 from me. Here’s to hoping it maintains this quality!
