The character portraying Christopher Nolan’s next hero has been unveiled! It’s Matt Damon who will play Odysseus in Nolan’s upcoming movie, “The Odyssey”, as TopMob had predicted earlier! A sneak peek shows Damon as the ruler of Ithaca dressed in traditional Greek armor and wearing a long beard, fitting for the time period. However, it’s worth mentioning that some online history enthusiasts have pointed out inaccuracies in the costume design. Despite this, the look is impressive nonetheless. The film’s social media account shared the first glimpse of Odysseus recently.
Starting in the spring, Christopher Nolan’s production company Syncopy will commence filming for the movie. Nolan is currently filming The Odyssey on Sicily and the island of Favignana, located near Sicily’s coast. Often called Goat Island, this name originates from an ancient Greek translation in past times.
The specific roles of the remaining actors in the production haven’t been finalized yet, but it’s confirmed that Damon will be sharing the screen with a tremendously talented ensemble, which includes Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Elliot Page, Jon Bernthal, and Charlize Theron. The casting team is adding more actors daily, and this list isn’t even exhaustive.
