Marvel Says It’s Discussing Bringing Back JESSICA JONES, LUKE CAGE, and IRON FIST

Stepping into the limelight once more, Daredevil is set to make a triumphant return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yet, it seems our resident vigilante Matt Murdock may not be the only hero gracing the streets of Hell’s Kitchen with his presence. Intriguing conversations are underway at Marvel Studios regarding the potential comeback of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist as well, promising an exhilarating continuation of our sharedDefenders adventure!

Yes, even Iron Fist.

Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s executive in charge of streaming, television, and animation, revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the studio is actively considering incorporating Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil into the main Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). These actors had their own Netflix Marvel series previously. They also collaborated on The Defenders.

Winderbaum didn’t provide details about how or when the three actors might return to their characters. However, he expressed great enthusiasm about the possibility, calling it “very exciting.” This opportunity lies within a sandbox, which is poised to leave an impression on Disney+ with the series Daredevil: Born Again.

In addition to this series, another star from a popular Netflix era show, Jon Bernthal (known for his role as The Punisher), will return as Frank Castle. Moreover, Vincent D’Onofrio, who played Wilson Fisk, is also set to appear. Both characters have previously appeared in other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, with Charlie Cox’s Murdoch being no exception. Notably, original Daredevil cast members such as Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, and Wilson Bethel will make a comeback for the first time since the Netflix shows concluded.

If the Marvel Cinematic Universe decides to create additional projects set in Hell’s Kitchen, it could pave the way for even more appearances from existing characters such as Elektra, the Hand, or other elements related to Daredevil. When asked about the possibility of Elektra reappearing, Winderbaum hinted that there are numerous stories within the comics that they would like to explore or revisit.

This studio, known for its secrecy, has made an unexpected revelation. If any of the Defenders were to appear in “Daredevil: Born Again” (we previously suspected Jessica Jones might), it would be less about Marvel entertaining us with a fun possibility and more like a subtle hint they’ve been trying to keep under wraps.
