Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4 represent exceptional remakes of the third and fourth games from this esteemed series, often regarded as the best the series has offered. Each game boasts unforgettable levels brimming with challenges to conquer, along with a few hidden surprises.
In this remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, the initial level is referred to as Foundry. It serves as a brief, compact stage that focuses the action within a relatively confined space, but don’t be fooled – it’s not easy by any means. There are numerous challenges hidden within, some of which may not appear as straightforward as you might think.
I’ve put together this walkthrough for all the challenges in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, including strategies for finding the elusive secret tape and other collectibles hidden within each level. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned pro, this guide will help you master every trick, grind, and gap on your way to becoming the ultimate skateboarding legend!
THPS 3+4 Foundry: All challenge solutions
In Foundry, many tasks require minimal explanation. For instance, there are high score challenges involving tricks and combos to reach a specific target score, as well as SKATE letter collection. The latter is quite straightforward; most SKATE letters are visible from the start of the level, and once you’ve found the ‘S’, the rest should be easily accessible.
The rest of the challenges need a bit more explanation, and we’ve done exactly that below.
Indy Over the Half Pipe
There’s a half-pipe placed right in the center of the room, directly before where you start. On both sides, there are small ramps. To complete this task, all you have to do is execute an “indy grab” (a move involving a right hand grab) while soaring over the half-pipe. This action should help you check it off your list.
Soak the Foreman
To the right of the starting point lies an elevated area enclosed by rails, with a container full of liquid at its center. If you cautiously circumnavigate the backside of this container, you’ll discover a massive metal hook dangling from the ceiling above. By scooting along the rail below it, you can accidentally trigger the hook to swing, striking the foreman and causing him to fall into the vat, thus completing the task at hand.
Grind the Molten Bucket
On the map, you’ll find a mobile vat of liquid metal moving around. To finish this task, you must ride on top of it and grind for a while. There are several strategies for doing this, but the simplest is to let it descend to fill up the pool of molten metal at the opposite end of the map, then hop onto the adjacent rail using a nearby ramp or halfpipe and slide along it momentarily to accomplish the challenge.
Un-Jam 5 Valves
Along the perimeter of the room, primarily at ground level, you’ll find a line of five conspicuous valves. Workers are usually stationed in front of each one, and above each valve is a small rail. By executing a timely jump and grind, you can clear these valves, which not only completes the task on your list but also exposes the generator core – an engaging area where you can accumulate points quickly and uncover some intriguing secrets hidden within.
THPS 3+4 Foundry: How to get the secret tape
Accessing the hidden cassette in the Foundry is relatively simple, but it necessitates precise maneuvering. Right beside the initial zone, there’s a modest slope. If you leap from this slope, you should be able to land on the upper catwalk (as shown above) within the factory.
From there, proceed by walking alongside the right wall until you reach the big glass enclosure in the center of the room. Once there, move towards the opposite end of the room. You’ll have a good view of the hidden tape from this spot. To retrieve it, leap across and glide or grind along the upper beam to get it.
THPS 3+4 Foundry: Iron Galaxy logo location
In every THPS 3 and 4 level, an Iron Galaxy emblem is secretly tucked away. Collecting all these emblems will unlock additional features in the hidden store. Luckily, finding and obtaining the Iron Galaxy emblem in Foundry is quite simple. After successfully finishing the Un-Jam 5 Valves challenge, enter the recently unlocked generator core, which can be found right behind where the player initially spawns. Then, climb up onto the ledge on the side of the bowl, and follow the spiraling ramp to the top. You’ll find the Iron Galaxy emblem at the end of the ramp.
THPS 3+4 Foundry: Secret deck location
Accessing the hidden deck on the Foundry level can be tricky; it necessitates precise maneuvers and, depending on your character, may require some skill point enhancements. To reach it, you’ll need to revisit the catwalk used for the secret video mission, but this time, opt for the left side of the catwalk instead of the right.
To reach the secret deck, start by skating alongside the catwalk’s left edge and perform a grind as you approach the rail. Then, leap (ollie) across the left wall onto an elevated platform housing the mystery deck. This maneuver demands decent speed and height, so consider enhancing your jumps or speed to make it successfully.
Be cautious of the uneven rail that runs along the top of the platform with the deck; a wrong angle could cause you to lose balance. If you’re having trouble, you can grind on this rail, but be careful not to accidentally grind near the platform’s edge since shorter characters might miss the deck if they do.
