‘The Morning Show’ Season 4 Teaser: Aniston and Witherspoon Walk into a Hall of Secrets

The Morning Show” returns this autumn, and based on the latest trailer, things are shaping up to be even more thrilling. The fourth season of the Apple TV+ series will premiere on September 17, and it seems that this time, the focus is on artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and the ambiguous boundaries between reality and deception.

The series consistently draws inspiration from actual events, and this time around is no exception. Previous seasons explored topics like the pandemic and the Capitol insurrection. This season focuses on AI, bringing up significant questions about authenticity and trustworthiness. According to Apple’s official synopsis, the UBA and NBN networks have merged, resulting in a new set of responsibilities for the team, as well as concealed agendas and the challenging task of uncovering truth in a divided America. The series also hints at deepfakes, rumors, and corporate secrets.

In the opening scene, Jennifer Aniston’s character Alex strolls past a line of windows, followed by Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley doing the same. Initially, only their reflections are visible, but soon the images start to change. Other characters’ reflections start showing up, suggesting that there is much more activity happening beyond the windowpanes.

In a voiceover, Alex asserts, “It’s crucial to scrutinize everything we observe and listen to, especially in these times.” Later, we hear Bradley say, “There has been a concealment of facts. Time will reveal the truth, as it always does. You understand that.

In one of the windows, Mark Duplass’s character, Chip, appears. He queries, “I’m in need of some information, something I can barter with?” Given that he lost his position as Alex’s producer during Season 3, it seems Chip is attempting a comeback, potentially at someone else’s cost.

In the scene that follows, Cory, portrayed by Billy Crudup, makes an appearance, and in a casual tone, remarks, “Isn’t it convenient when you can have someone take care of your difficult tasks for you?” The identity of his conversation partner remains unspecified, but his words echo his characteristic air of mystery. As the leader of UBA, he is always involved in some secretive endeavor.

Jon Hamm reappears as tech mogul Paul. Addressing someone, he states, “If you’re serious about leading this place, you must have an intense desire for it.” Then, Greta Lee’s character Stella, who oversees the news division, counters with, “I wonder if you know the sacrifices I made to get where I am today?

As a fan, I find myself echoing the words of Brodie, portrayed by Boyd Holbrook: “This isn’t some cozy, friendly environment. It’s a den of vipers.” Similarly, Mia, skillfully brought to life by Karen Pittman, doesn’t mince her words: “You promised a different approach when you took this job, and yet here we are.

In addition, we catch a peek at another fresh character – Marion Cotillard takes on the role of Celine. According to Apple, Celine is a “shrewd member” from a distinguished European family. In the trailer, she can be heard saying, “I prefer to identify those who are allies and those who might pose a risk.

In movie buff terms, here’s how I would rephrase it: As the scene wraps up, Alex and Bradley are seen striding towards each other, filling the screen. A mysterious voice echoes, “It seems like the behind-the-scenes turmoil is more captivating than the on-screen drama.” The screen then displays a thought-provoking message: “Embrace Your Reality.

In the upcoming Season 4, we can expect the return of both Nicole Beharie and Nestor Carbonell. Joining them this season are three new faces: Jeremy Irons, Aaron Pierre, and William Jackson Harper.

This teaser and the accompanying information are provided by Apple TV+. The show is overseen by showrunner Charlotte Stoudt and director Mimi Leder. Among the executive producers are Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, Jennifer Aniston, Kristin Hahn, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Zander Lehmann, and Micah Schraft.
