Shakira Cancels Lima Show

Shakira left everyone surprised by announcing the cancellation of her upcoming concert in Lima. She explained that she had to cancel due to an unexpected hospitalization related to an abdominal issue.

On Sunday, the artist famed for her “Whenever, Wherever” hit took to Instagram, posting Stories in Spanish accompanied by their English translations.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me express my regrettable news: I found myself in an unexpected situation last night, needing urgent care at the ER due to an abdominal problem. Presently, I’m under medical supervision within hospital walls. Sadly, this means I won’t be able to grace the stage for tonight’s performance as my current health status is far from ideal, according to the doctors attending to me.

Shakira regretfully mentioned she couldn’t perform today due to being unwell, but she was eager to connect with her Peruvian fans soon. She hopes to feel better and get on stage tomorrow, and her team is arranging a new performance date that they’ll announce later.

The singer gratefully acknowledged her fans’ understanding and also shared her deep affection for them. In another instance, the performer appreciated the flood of loving messages and stated that they provided her with immense strength. She openly declared her profound love for them.

For those unfamiliar, Shakira was scheduled to perform at the Estadio Nacional in Lima on February 16 and 17, as indicated on her website. This performance is part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which kicked off on February 11, 2025.

In addition to her performances in Chile, Dominican Republic, Argentina, and Mexico, she will also light up stages in the U.S., specifically Chicago, Houston, Boston, and Los Angeles. Her tour will culminate in San Francisco.

In terms of her career, this year seems exceptionally successful for her since she recently received a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album, an accolade she earned after a gap of seven years as stated by Deadline.
