Michael B. Jordan Explains Why Creed 4 Is Taking Time; Here’s What We Know

Michael B. Jordan has discussed the delay in the release of Creed 4. In a recent interview, the actor revealed insights about portraying Adonis Creed and explained why fans must be patient for the upcoming film in the widely appreciated boxing franchise.

Jordan clarified that he’s taking his time before moving forward with another Creed film. He explained to GQ, “Well, it might be the fourth one at some point, I’m just not certain when yet, but we left room for potential growth in that series.

In his own words, he expressed that he doesn’t wish to produce another film hastily, but rather wait for the perfect moment, allowing it to gain some anticipation, even a sense of longing among the audience. Then, when the timing is ideal, he plans to re-enter the project and continue. Jordan conveyed this thought.

According to producer Irwin Winkler, who shared the news in November 2023, work on Creed 4 has already begun. He mentioned that they have a strong idea for the story and the plot, saying, “We’re currently working on Creed 4… We believe we have an excellent narrative in store.

As a devoted follower, I had previously shared the exciting news that Ryan Coogler might resume his directorial role for Creed 4, with pre-production slated to begin in 2024. However, recent updates from Coogler suggest a slightly slower progression than enthusiasts may have anticipated.

For the first time, Michael B. Jordan assumed the role as director for the film “Creed III,” released in cinemas in March 2023. This movie was a hit and continued the narrative of Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo Creed – a character originally portrayed by the late Carl Weathers in the iconic Rocky series.

Initially, Michael B. Jordan portrayed Adonis Creed for the first time in the 2015 film titled Creed, which was helmed by Ryan Coogler. Later, he reprised his role as Adonis Creed in Creed II, released in 2018 under the guidance of Steven Caple Jr. For Creed III, Jordan expanded his involvement, assuming both acting and directing responsibilities.

As the anticipation builds for Creed 4, Michael B. Jordan isn’t idling by. Instead, he’s teaming up once more with Creed director Ryan Coogler on a new project called Sinners. This movie ventures into supernatural territory, featuring vampires, where Jordan will portray twin brothers. Alongside him in the cast is Hailee Steinfeld.
