Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: The King’s Gambit Mission Guide

“Let’s embark on a secret operation with Henry, following the ‘King’s Gambit’ mission in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.”

In the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, “The King’s Gambit” is the 19th major mission. During this mission, your character Henry takes on a secret role at King Sigismund’s court to gather intel. To accomplish this, you’ll need to don disguise as a servant and serve wine to different individuals. Keep in mind that this task should be finished within a set timeframe, so begin it promptly to ensure success.

Furthermore, participants are required to don attire reminiscent of a waiter and successfully complete the Royal Waiter Course for this particular task. Here, we delve deeper into the specifics of “The King’s Gambit” side-quest within Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

How To Complete The King’s Gambit Quest In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To start, your initial task involves having a conversation with Vavak and persuading him to grant you access to the Royal Court. He holds the position of the Mint Minister, and since we’ve gathered proof of his silver theft, securing his approval should be relatively straightforward. Look for the marker above to locate Vavak in Kuttenberg. Once found, he will suggest that the most effective way to gain entry into Sigismund’s court is by disguising yourself as a Royal Waiter.

In this upcoming mission, Franta Kuldaun, the cook’s son, will serve as the Royal Waiter. To succeed, we need to strategize and impersonate him. But remember, simply taking his place isn’t enough; you’ll also need to don appropriate attire to fit the role. With our plan sketched out, it’s time to locate Franta Kuldaun. He can be found north of the market, and you should have no trouble finding him with the marker on your map guiding the way.

When you inform Franta that your goal is to become the Royal Waiter, it’s likely he won’t agree right away, so we’ll need to find a way to change his mind. You can either engage in a conversation with Franta and persuade him using your skill checks, or you could offer him 1,000 Groschen as an incentive. Once he’s on board, he will provide you with the Royal Waiter Certificate and share the required attire for court.

Get the Royal Waiter Attire

In the market, you’ll find a unique outfit designed exclusively for the Royal Court. To acquire this ensemble, you should approach the tailor there and ask him about the attire tailored for Franta. If you do so, he should provide you with more information on how to obtain it.

  • Royal Waiter’s Hat
  • Royal Waiter’s Coat
  • The Hose of a Royal Waiter

Remember, there are two tailors in the market and the one on the northern side has what you need. First, put on your clothes from your inventory and take off any armor you might have equipped. Once you’re dressed, follow the marked location on your map and talk to the man sitting behind the desk. We advise selecting the “ ‘I am ready to learn’ ” option as it will help you understand how to be a good waiter effectively. Keep in mind that if you fail at your tasks, the mission will end unsuccessfully.

Serve Wine to the Noblemen

When you feel prepared, go ahead and click on “I’ve got it covered” to move forward with the storyline. From now on, you’ll be tasked with assisting people in the court. Don’t fret, as it’s straightforward, but if you ever find yourself lost, here are some guidelines to help you along:

  • You will be able to find wine on a table in the corner
  • When someone asks for wine, you should serve it with utmost urgency
  • Make sure you pick the right colored wine, Red or White.
  • Do not give wine to Adam of Zarzits

Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be just fine. Some individuals in the court may request you to retrieve items from a back room; just comply with their requests, and you won’t miss your goal. After some time, a scene will automatically play out. Once it concludes, Bailiff Andreas Plumel will instruct you to get his goblet. Locate the stairs in the corner that head towards an office, then pick up the cup from the table and deliver it to the Bailiff.

Afterward, Franz Rosenthal will reach out to you for help in locating his gloves. You’re to head towards the room that’s close to the wine dispensers, where you’ll find the white gloves on a podium. Retrieve them and deliver them to Rosenthal. If he queries about the number of winged figures adorning the murals, feel free to respond as you please since he’s unaware of the correct answer. Eventually, Sigismund will make an appearance during a scene transition, following which you’ll resume playing as Father Godwin in Raborsch.

Make New Allies

As Father Godwin, your primary mission involves winning over the support of Lady Anna Waldstein, Haman Alder, and Sir Botschek to form an alliance with you. Luckily, each of these individuals is clearly marked on your map, making it less challenging to locate them. However, be prepared for a more complex process than anticipated. Each of the three may request specific actions from you before they commit to this alliance.

  • Haman Alder: He will ask you to defeat Godwin’s brother in a duel.
  • Lady Anna Waldstein: You will have to give her some documents from the shed in the courtyard.
  • Sir Botschek: You will have to promise Sir Botschek that Hans will marry his niece to win his favor.

Among the three tasks, you might find difficulty with Anna Waldstein’s papers. A man will be stationed at the tool shed. If you’d like, challenge him to a game of dice, and he’ll leave the shed to join the table for the game—it’s quite straightforward. After he’s moved away, venture into the shed and exchange the documents. Once each task is accomplished, engage Liechtenstein in conversation and inform him that you have secured three new allies.

Serve Sigismund To Complete the Quest

As I, the devoted fan, find myself in the midst of Jobst’s declaration during a captivating scene, an army is revealed. However, the spotlight swiftly shifts back to Henry, leaving me with one final task: serving wine to none other than the illustrious King Sigismund whenever he so desires. Shortly thereafter, a new cutscene will unfold, signaling the conclusion of “The King’s Gambit” quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
