The show “Dexter: Original Sin” featuring Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, Molly Brown, and others, provided thrilling surprises in its recent season. The finale of this Dexter prequel series, broadcasted on Valentine’s Day, 2025, titled “Code Blues,” kept viewers hooked.
At the end of the season, the main character pursues Spencer aboard a deserted vessel, which happens to be where Spencer’s son, Nicky, is detained as well.
In due course, Spencer and Dexter find themselves engaged in a struggle. To evade this situation, Spencer decides to flood the vessel, potentially putting Nicky’s life at risk. At this critical juncture, Dexter encounters two options: align with Spencer or protect Nicky. He opts for the latter, firing a distress signal flare to summon aid and ensure Nicky’s safe rescue by the authorities.
Later, Dexter locates Spencer at his ex-wife’s mansion, where Spencer tries to murder her. It comes to light that Nicky is the offspring of an affair between her and her present husband. But before Spencer has a chance, Dexter transports him out to sea on Camilla’s yacht.
After this, it’s evident that Dexter’s past holds many secrets we weren’t aware of earlier. However, just prior to any additional disclosures, Dexter takes the life of Spencer.
Simultaneously, Harry is looking into the murder of Barb, who was a social worker involved in removing Brian Moser from the Morgan family during his childhood.
In due course, Harry uncovers the truth and challenges Brian regarding his fixation on Dexter, on a rooftop no less. As they converse, Brian unexpectedly knocks Harry out, then slips away.
Afterward, Dexter returns home to discover Harry tuned in to the news, reporting on Nicky’s rescue operation. It is then that Dexter admits to murdering Spencer and rescuing Nicky instead. Harry comfortingly affirms that Dexter acted correctly.
Towards the end of the episode, over a shared dinner at a restaurant, Dexter, Harry, and Deb discuss significant news. Deb confides that she’s chosen to forego her FSU scholarship, instead opting to attend the police academy.
