Mapping The Living Lands Guide – Avowed

As an avid fan, I can tell you that in the upcoming game Avowed, you’ll embark on a thrilling series of quests titled Mapping the Living Lands. In these quests, Sanza the cartographer will task you to explore the farthest corners of each land. After having a chat with him at his Emporium nestled in Paradis, the city of Dawnshore, you’ll receive your first assignment: Mapping the Living Lands – Dawnshore.

Every time you venture into a fresh territory, a new mission becomes accessible on its own, labeled with “Emerald Star,” “Shatterscarp,” or “Galawain’s Tusks.” The quest icon will display only a partial map, but locating the exact hideout of each missing cartographer can be challenging – that’s where this useful guide proves handy.

Where To Find The Cartographer For Mapping The Living Lands – Dawnshore

In Dawnshore, you’re led to Usher’s Hand in the northern section of the Southern Embrace. The mapmaker, who met with a tragic fate involving a falling rock, is located near a campsite approximately three o’clock if you consider the map as a clock face. He’s situated right at the edge of the circular guide.

Should you possess the God’s Gate Beacon, you will find it in a compact group that might have been termed a ruin, roughly five steps to the left side of the rapid travel beacon.

Make your way towards the backside of Naku Tedek Grounds, then leap off the wooden structure in the corner. From there, you can leap onto a sturdy tree that winds around a cliff face. Proceed along it, and when you reach the end, lower yourself down and turn around.

Here at this location, you’ll discover the cartographer deceased near a rock, and her map will be situated on the precipice close by. You may also choose to circumnavigate the front of Naku Tedek Grounds from the nearby camping site, but keep in mind that it might be more challenging to spot her since the path seems to end after the graves.

Where To Find The Cartographer For Mapping The Living Lands – Shatterscarp

In the remote southeastern part of Shatterscarp, a sea-standing rock column can be found. Scale the nearby rocky outcrop, then leap across the void to reach it. The cartographer and their encampment are tucked against the farthest and tallest rock’s wall. Their map is located beside them.

In the far southeastern corner of Shatterscarp, you will discover a sea-standing rock column. Ascend the nearby rocky ledge, then jump over the chasm to reach it. The cartographer and their camp are nestled against the furthest and tallest rock’s wall. Their map can be found beside them.

Hey there, I’ve got a tip for you fellow gamers: You might as well take a peek at their nearby pack for some handy items – an Essence Potion, Spirit Residue, and even two Stelgaer Leathers. After all, they wouldn’t be missing it if they needed it, right?

Where To Find The Cartographer For Mapping The Living Lands – Galawain’s Tusks

This final challenge might prove to be both complex and straightforward. On one hand, it could be the most challenging due to a twist – the cartographer isn’t where the game suggests; instead, he’s been apprehended. On the other hand, this very unexpected turn of events could simplify the task at hand because finding him won’t require searching the designated large basin as per the game instructions.

Go to South Warden Tower, located north of the Writhing Ruins and west of The Sallow Steppe (as shown in the picture above). Speak to the Warden there. It’s not too difficult to persuade the Warden to release the cartographer. However, if a fight does ensue, you can find the key on the upper level. Once the cartographer is freed, either by persuasion or otherwise, the quest will be completed.

Following our separation, we accomplished the quest (and rescued the keep). This achievement might be the reason why the Wardens showed less concern about releasing him.

Following every expedition, make your way back to Sanza in the Northern Paradis Emporium to register the quests as finished. Despite the repeated deaths of cartographers, Sanza still shows surprise each time.
