Netflix enthusiasts can now look forward to a new source of excitement, as the streaming service has announced plans to introduce a gripping Japanese action-thriller titled “Demon City” on their platform, based on information from their official website.
It appears that the forthcoming film is an ideal fit for anyone who enjoys action-packed movies, and it’s scheduled to premiere on a streaming platform on February 27, 2025.
The film is reportedly adapted from Masamichi Kawabe’s comic titled Oni Goroshi.
On the streamer’s website, the movie’s summary indicates that hitman Shuhei Sakata was preparing to reform his life for his family, but the enigmatic group Kimen-gumi brutally murdered his wife and daughter, falsely accusing him and tarnishing his reputation. After being shot in the head, he remarkably lives but slips into a coma.
In summary, it’s stated that after a twelve-year interval, the Kimen-gumi assaults him once more. This time, his latent killer instinct resurfaces, propelling him on an extraordinary path of retribution. Yet, what lies ahead is a truth that has the potential to fundamentally transform his fate.
Among the talented ensemble that promises to linger in the minds of viewers, I have the privilege of being one with Toma Ikuta, Masahiro Higashide, Ami Touma, Mio Tanaka, Taro Suruga, Mai Kiryu, Naoto Takenaka, Takuma Otoo, Matsuya Onoe, and Masanobu Takashima.
On Netflix’s own site, it is stated that Seiji Tanaka is responsible for both penning the script and directing the movie. The producers for this project are Yasuhiro Masaoka and Takeshi Sawa, with Yoshihiro Sato taking on the role of executive producer.
Catch Demon City on Netflix on February 27, 2025!
