On a Tuesday evening during the grand premiere of “Captain America: Brave New World” on the red carpet, Variety gave Anthony Mackie the microphone. In his message to Tom Holland, Mackie had some words to share.

Mackie excitedly told Tom, “I can’t wait to meet up with you when I arrive in London, dear. You look stunning.

Additionally, Variety noted that it was Mackie who secured a film role, a fact that Tom Holland often jestingly ridiculed Mackie about due to his lack of solo films.

“Oh! That goes without saying,” responded Mackie with a big smile. “I don’t state the obvious.”

Avengers: Doomsday films in London

According to recent reports, Marvel Studios is set to begin filming “Avengers: Doomsday” in the United Kingdom next month. This news coincides with Mackie’s announcement to Holland, implying that both actors may appear together in the upcoming movie.

The movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, under the direction of Joe and Anthony Russo. Alongside Robert Downey Jr., it appears that Anthony Mackie and Tom Holland will also be part of the cast. Furthermore, reports suggest that The Fantastic Four members—Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Pedro Pascal—will join the film as well. There are rumors that Hayley Atwell and Chris Evans might reprise their roles, along with members of the Thunderbolts, including Wyatt Russell.

In the upcoming week, “Captain America: Brave New World” will have early screenings on Thursday, followed by its official premiere on Friday.
