Nobody Wants This Season 2: Jackie Tohn Made Series Regular As Esther’s Storyline Grows in Kristen Bell, Adam Brody Starrer

Jackie Tohn has been upgraded to a main cast member in the Netflix show “Nobody Wants This.” In the first season, she portrays Esther Roklov, who is Sasha’s mother.

According to TVLine, Netflix’s romantic comedy featuring Kristen Bell has elevated Tohn to a main cast member. In this series, Tohn plays Esther, the boisterous sister-in-law to Adam Brody’s character Rabbi Noah and the wife of Timothy Simons’ character Sasha.

Throughout the first season, I found myself quite vocal about my disapproval of Noah’s (Adam Brody) romantic involvement with Joanne, the podcast host portrayed by Bell. This was primarily because of Joanne’s close relationship with Noah’s ex-girlfriend, Rebecca. As the story progressed, however, I found myself softening towards Joanne. However, in the season finale, things took a surprising twist when Morgan, Joanne’s sister, started getting a bit too cozy with Sasha, which caused quite a stir.

Previously, Tohn discussed how Esther found herself concerned about the ambiguous text exchanges between Sasha and Morgan, which seemed to cross over into a hazy region regarding emotional limits. Essentially, Esther expressed her viewpoint that it wasn’t the specific content of the messages but rather the lack of clarity or openness that caused her unease.

In simpler terms, Tohn told the media, “Don’t you agree that [Esther] deserves an explanation in this situation? After all, he’s not just a casual boyfriend; he’s her husband. The text messages seem to be in that questionable gray area…

In a different phrasing, the conversation might go like this: “Where do the limits lie? What’s acceptable? Is it possible for Morgan and Sasha to be friends? Tohn suggested, further commenting, “Is Esther justified in her anger? Whether she is or not, she is certainly feeling it, and I believe she has a reason to… It’s the unknown facts. So it’s the discovery of the concealment that feels strange.

The unexpected romance series starring Adam Brody as an eccentric American rabbi and Kristen Bell as a straightforward podcast host, who have no belief in God, has been renewed for another season by Netflix. This popular show will return to Netflix screens in the year 2025.
