The anime series ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ is nearing its end, but don’t fret, fans – the Dragon Ball franchise isn’t going anywhere! In fact, the producer has dropped some intriguing updates: Dragon Ball will continue to be a part of our lives for years to come.
In simpler terms, the latest installment of Dragon Ball, titled “Daima,” marks an exciting new phase as it commemorates 40 years since the initial publication of the original Dragon Ball manga. This anime unfolds events that bridge the gap between ‘Dragon Ball Z’ and ‘Dragon Ball Super,’ making it a seamless fit within the series chronology. Although “Daima” is wrapping up, it appears the adventure continues to unfold without pause.
In a recent conversation with Mantan Web (translated by @Venixys on X), Dragon Ball’s executive producer Akio Iyoku discussed upcoming plans for the series. While an official reveal about the next project has not been made, Iyoku promised enthusiasts that significant developments are on the horizon.
Creating anime and games requires patience, yet we’re diligently planning for what lies ahead. Our aim is to extend the brand beyond its current reach… There’s little question that Dragon Ball will endure for many more decades.
It’s heartening to know this, given that there was apprehension among fans regarding the future of Dragon Ball following the demise of its visionary creator, Akira Toriyama. However, as stated by Iyoku, the team has been consistently preparing for what lies ahead.
Although specifics are still unclear, Iyoku disclosed that conversations and creative thinking processes have already commenced secretly.
We’re continually developing multiple strategies, generating numerous ideas, and pressing on with determination. I’m eager to keep putting my best foot forward, working alongside the talented Masako Nozawa.
Even after many years, Masako Nozawa, who has voiced Goku for quite some time, remains enthusiastic about continuing her role. Recently, she was honored with a special award at the 66th Mainichi Art Awards and showed her commitment to the character in a light-hearted manner.
As a great admirer, I find myself expressing my sentiments in line with Nozawa’s words: “I can’t predict for sure how many more years I’ll continue,” but let me share that I aspire to carry on until I reach the age of 182! If our paths cross, I would be delighted if you could offer your encouragement with a cheerful ‘Good luck!’
Despite Dragon Ball Super wrapping up its run, the series isn’t going anywhere as the creative team is actively brainstorming fresh concepts and long-term strategies. Rest easy, fans, because Goku’s escapades are set to persist for a considerable amount of time yet!
