*NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick Recalls His Hilarious Reaction to Eminem’s Without Me Diss: ‘Are We Beefing?’

Chris Kirkpatrick, a member of *NSYNC, wasn’t anticipating a jab from Eminem. In his track “Without Me”, the renowned rapper, who is notoriously critical of boy bands, playfully mocked Kirkpatrick, leading to an influx of calls on the singer’s phone.

More recently, Kirkpatrick (aged 53) reminisced about a memorable occasion during his interview on CW’s The ’90s Boy Band Boom. Following his performance in Miami, his phone started buzzing with text messages and questions asking if he had listened to Eminem’s latest track.

Initially, it appeared to him that the rapper was merely making a casual jibe at *NSYNC in general. However, upon closer examination of the song’s lyrics, Kirkpatrick became certain that Eminem had specifically targeted him. This was done creatively and playfully by using his full name as a way to deliver a diss.

Speaking about our performance in Miami, Kirkpatrick mentioned that on our way back, he began receiving numerous texts saying, “Did you catch the latest Eminem track? He seems to be mocking you in the new Eminem song.

The pop star mused, “I adore Eminem, and *NSYNC seems to fit perfectly into any verse. You know, *NSYNC, skunk, it’s not exactly difficult.” She further commented, “And I find myself saying, ‘Chris Kirkpatrick? There’s nothing that rhymes with that.’

Nevertheless, Shady’s lyrics in the popular track have no limits as he raps, “A tisket, a tasket, I’ll retaliate with / Any dialogue, this talk, this walk / Chris Kirkpatrick, you could face a beating / Even worse than those little Limp Bizkit troublemakers.

Upon listening to the tune, Kirkpatrick acknowledged his thoughts as, “It harmonizes well there. It’s logical,” followed by, “At that instant, I found myself questioning, ‘What is its message? Have feelings between us escalated now? Are we at odds? That’s unfortunate.’

At that point in time, boy bands were frequently targeted for criticism, primarily because of their widespread popularity. As stated by Chris Kirkpatrick, *NSYNC diligently worked around the clock in the recording studio to refine their music, without using autotune. It’s astonishing how they managed to fly under the radar in the music industry.
