Players of Monster Hunter Wilds were unable to participate in the last weekend’s Open Beta Test 2 because of the recent PlayStation Network downtime. To make up for this inconvenience, the creators have decided to prolong the second week of the Open Beta Test 2.
Initially, the developers intended to run two Open Beta Test 2 sessions, with the first one scheduled from February 6 to February 9 and the second from February 13 to February 16, but due to problems with the PSN affecting the initial week’s experience, they chose to expand the second session across all platforms (PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam). The revised timeframe for Monster Hunter Wilds open beta test 2 is “February 13, 7 pm PT / February 14, 3 am GMT to February 17, 6:59 pm PT / February 18, 2:59 am GMT.
During the prolonged Monster Hunter Wilds beta testing phase, players can expect to receive “participation rewards.” These rewards will also be accessible in the final version of the game. The beta test includes a fresh training mode, crossplay compatibility, new monsters such as Gypceros and Arkveld, along with previously released content, and additional features.
During the recent PlayStation Network downtime, it wasn’t just Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test 2 that was impacted; all online games on the platform became unplayable. Instead, players could only enjoy their single-player offline titles. Sony attributed the 20-hour outage to an “operational issue,” and as a form of apology, it has given users five days of complimentary PlayStation Plus service.
