There’s been lots of excitement for the return of Gangs of Galicia (or Clanes), and now, good news for its fans! According to a recent report by What’s On Netflix, Netflix ES has officially announced that season 2 is on its way.
This thrilling announcement arrives over half a year since the initial season of the series debuted on the streaming service.
For those unfamiliar, this gripping crime drama centers around a woman who learns her father was secretly living two lives after his untimely death. Driven by revenge, she embeds herself within a powerful Galician drug syndicate to confront the mastermind behind it all.
After making its initial appearance on Netflix, the series managed to climb into the Top 10 charts in 82 different countries, among them Spain, where it stayed on the list for more than 11 consecutive weeks as reported by the publication.
Furthermore, it is said that the show was in Netflix’s global Top 10 for non-English TV series for five consecutive weeks, accumulating a total of 72.4 million watched hours, which is equivalent to approximately 13.9 million viewings.
Based on the report, it was mentioned casually during the Netflix event in Madrid that the show would be renewed. While most influencers and journalists were mainly focused on U.S. announcements, they also learned about upcoming Spanish series such as Aitana: Metamorphosis, Carlos Alcaraz: My War, Olympo, A Ghost In Battle, and Turn of the Tide Season 2.
