Fantastic Four Trailer Falls Short Against Superman’s Record-Breaking Views

It can be rephrased as: In the ongoing conflict between DC and Marvel, it seems Kevin Feige has suffered a defeat compared to James Gunn, as the fresh Fantastic Four trailer didn’t garner as many views as the Superman trailer did.

How many views did the Fantastic Four trailer have?

On Tuesday, Marvel kept us eager fans on tenterhooks for over an hour before unveiling the trailer for the Fantastic Four. In just a day, this sneak peek amassed an astonishing 202 million views across various social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. As a film enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement!

The trailer for the Fantastic Four ranks third in viewings among Marvel trailers, coming after Deadpool and Wolverine (with 365 million views) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (with 355 million views). It also holds the record for the highest number of views Marvel Studios has ever received for a non-sequel movie.

Deadline adds Social volume for Fantastic Four: First Steps hit close to a half million.

How many views did James Gunn’s Superman trailer have?

On December 19, a week prior to Christmas, James Gunn unveiled the Superman trailer. He later shared that this trailer garnered more than 250 million views and sparked over a million social media posts.

In a post on X in December, Gunn stated that Krypto truly led us home: The ‘Superman’ trailer amassed over 250 million views and a million social media posts, making it the most-watched and most-discussed trailer of all time for both DC and Warner Bros.

He expressed, “It’s due to your collective efforts that I say, ‘Thank you!’ We are deeply appreciative and, above all, eager to unveil this film to you in July. Enjoy the festive season!

DC vs Marvel back on: Superman vs Fantastic Four

DC vs. Marvel is back on as the films only open two weeks apart in the summer.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that James Gunn has officially set the release date for his upcoming Superman film on July 11, 2025. In classic Marvel Studios fashion, Kevin Feige followed suit by announcing that Fantastic Four will hit theaters two weeks later on July 25, 2025. The anticipation is already building!

It’s known Feige likes to play follow the leader and go after DC.

Kevin Feige opted to switch the title of Captain America 3 from The Serpent Society to Civil War, following Zack Snyder’s announcement of Batman vs. Superman. Similarly, it’s believed that Feige chose The Eternals instead due to the impact of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Additionally, there is speculation that Feige decided on the Multiverse concept because of Snyder’s original ideas for The Flash and the DCEU.

It’s worth noting that after Snyder left the DCEU, both the DC and Marvel films seemed to experience some challenges. Perhaps a bit of friendly competition could be beneficial for everyone involved?
