Fantastic Four Trailer: A Groovy Tribute to The Beatles You Can’t Miss!

Regardless of your opinions on the latest Fantastic Four trailer, there’s no disputing its cool throwback to the 1960s futuristic aesthetic. It’s so reminiscent of the ’60s that it draws inspiration from another iconic group of the era: The Beatles, or as they were famously known, The Fab Four.

The movie unfolds in an alternate reality, a distinct universe, and it’s centered around New York City during the 1960s, a time marked by a fierce space competition.

The trailer reveals that the Fantastic Four reside in the Baxter Building, a place where they gather for Sunday dinner at 7 p.m., as hinted by the table-set cake, which appears to rise automatically, perhaps due to an automated system connected to the bubble machine located on the right side. As soon as the FF return home, the cake is mysteriously ready, reminiscent of the advanced technology seen in shows like The Jetsons or Star Trek’s replicators.

In the closing moments, the Fantastic Four are portrayed in a tribute reminiscent of The Beatles’ performance on The Ed Sullivan Show back in 1965. There’s no mistaking the similarities between the set decorations and details. It seems plausible that this scene depicts the Fantastic Four appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show within their own reality. Overall, this scene, along with the entire trailer, underscores the immense popularity of the Fantastic Four in their universe, mirroring the fame The Beatles enjoyed in ours. Interestingly enough, in the comics, The Beatles even attended Sue Storm and Reed Richards’ wedding. Impressive attention to detail!

The Fantastic Four: First Steps gets released on July 25th.
