Tensura’s Second Movie: New Visual, Poster, and February 2026 Release Date Revealed!

The “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” series made quite an impact during the 2025 Sapporo Snow Festival, announcing that its second movie, titled “Gekijō-ban Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Sōkai no Namida-hen” or “Tears of the Blue Sea Arc“, is expected to release soon!

The movie is scheduled for release in Japanese theaters in February 2026, produced by 8-Bit. A sneak peek of the visuals was unveiled at the event, while Bandai Namco Filmworks’ YouTube channel live-streamed it.

In addition to that, you should know that the TV anime is set to have a fourth season. The third season, broadcast in April 2024, came to an end with its 24th episode on September 27. It was quite an extended journey, spanning two consecutive trimesters. Crunchyroll streamed it simultaneously as it aired, also providing an English dub.

Atsushi Nakayama resumed his role as director, with Toshizo Nemoto taking care of the scriptwriting duties. Ryōma Ebata reprised his character design role, while Hitoshi Fujima, known for his work on ‘Scarlet Bond’ and ‘Visions of Coleus’, contributed the music composition.

This anime made its debut on screens in October 2018, being an adaptation of Taiki Kawakami’s manga, itself inspired by Fuse and Mitz Vah’s light novel series. Crunchyroll was responsible for streaming it, while FUNimation took care of the dubbing.

The second season premiered in the year 2021, commencing in January. After wrapping up its initial segment, a spin-off titled “The Slime Diaries” was broadcast from April until June. Subsequently, the remaining half of season two unfolded in July, providing us with non-stop entertainment for approximately nine months.

In November 2022, the movie titled “Scarlet Bond” was released, while a three-episode special called “Coleus’ Dream” premiered in November 2023. You can catch both of them, complete with subtitles and an English dub, on Crunchyroll.

With a new movie and another season confirmed, Tensura isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
