On February 2, 2025, the prestigious Saturn Awards for science fiction, fantasy, and horror were held at the Hilton Universal City Hotel. For the third year in a row, Joel McHale graced the stage as host. This grand event gathered A-list celebrities to honor the cream of the crop in genre entertainment. Special Honors and Legacy Awards
William Shatner was bestowed the Saturn’s Lifetime Achievement Honor, which was presented to him by his son-in-law, Joel Gretsch. Laurence Fishburne was granted the Lance Reddick Legacy Prize, and it was LeVar Burton who presented this award. Hiroyuki Sanada, a renowned actor from the Disney series Shōgun, received The Robert Forster Artist’s Accolade, which was handed to him by Jonathan Nolan.
To honor the 40th anniversary of “Back to the Future”, actors Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and writer-producer Bob Gale received The George Pal Memorial Award at a ceremony hosted by comedians Dana Gould and Bobcat Goldthwait.
In the Amazon series titled “Fallout”, they were bestowed The Spotlight Award. It was Ron Perlman who graciously handed the recognition to the cast and crew. On the other hand, “Superman & Lois” was given the Dan Curtis Legacy Award, which George Newbern presented to Tyler Hoechlin and showrunners Brent Fletcher and Todd Helbing.

16. Danny Elfman’s music in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice earns him the title of Best Film Music (Composer).
17. Dean Zimmerman & Shane Reid’s editing skills in Deadpool & Wolverine make them my choice for Best Film Editing.
18. Patrice Vermette’s design work in Deadpool & Wolverine is worthy of Best Film Production Designer.
19. Pierre-Olivier Persin’s makeup for The Substance is impressive, taking home the award for Best Film Make-Up.
20. Colleen Atwood’s costumes in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice are visually stunning and deserve recognition as Best Film Costume.
21. Lastly, Dune: Part Two’s visual and special effects (Paul Lambert, Stephen James, Rhys Salacombe, Gerd Nefzer) are awe-inspiring, making them my choice for Best Film Visual / Special Effects.
