Pharrell Williams Used a FINAL FANTASY VII Song During Louis Vuitton’s Fashion Week Show

In an unexpected collaboration, a tune from the soundtrack of “Final Fantasy VII” was featured at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week, courtesy of Pharrell Williams. The ominous track “One-Winged Angel” echoed as models strutted down the runway on January 22. Here is a live stream of the full show.

The fashion event unveiled the upcoming 2025 Fall-Winter collection for men designed by the Parisian label, while the tune “One-Winged Angel,” originally from the game, played as one of four songs throughout the presentation. This song is well-known for being associated with Sephiroth, the central villain in the video game. Nobuo Uematsu created this masterpiece, which merges elements from Igor Stravinsky’s classical compositions and Jimi Hendrix’s rock style. It is played during the player’s climactic battle against Sephiroth.

In the game, the original tune has lyrics in Latin, but during the performance, it was an instrumental piece played by a live orchestra instead. The live version of the song was performed by L’Orchestre du Pont Neuf, with Thomas Roussel handling its arrangement and orchestration. Interestingly, Pharrell was acknowledged on Final Fantasy’s Twitter account for featuring this song in the fashion show.
