Actors sometimes keep souvenirs from movie sets, but not everyone gets prosthetic ears as a takeaway. Interestingly enough, this is the case with Ariana Grande, who now proudly owns the false ears that her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo wore while portraying Elphaba.
Erivo donned prosthetic ears instead of trying to camouflage her numerous ear piercings with makeup or computer-generated imagery. Somehow, Grande acquired these ears and now stores them in a surprising location – next to her printer.
In an interview with BBC, Grande was inquired about their location. Laughing, she responded, ‘At the moment, they’re simply placed alongside the printer – among stationery items such as pens and the printer – along with Cynthia’s ears.’
She playfully suggested setting them out as snacks for visitors, curious to observe others’ responses. Admittedly, she confessed she may consider doing so at some point in the future.
When inquired if she might present them in a more structured manner, she quickly dismissed the notion. “I believe that’s the ideal way to showcase them. Hanging them seems peculiar. Please forgive me! Continue, I’m still pondering over it. I’m grappling with the idea.
Ali Plumb, the interviewer, proposed keeping them in the downstairs bathroom, which Grande found quite entertaining. However, she appears content with her present storage option – located beside office supplies.
This entire scenario perfectly embodies Grande’s character, as she consistently exhibits a lively wit, evident in her response to the viral ‘holding space’ meme and even major celebrities like Timothée Chalamet and Elle Fanning joined in on the fun.
It’s evident that she thoroughly enjoyed working on “Wicked“, as evidenced by her holding onto this peculiar memento, which underscores the depth of her affection for the whole adventure.
As the Oscars draw near and Wicked: Part Two is set for release in 2025, there’s a chance we might discover more intriguing items that she or her fellow actors saved. Frankly, it would be fascinating to learn Cynthia Erivo’s thoughts on her ears being part of Ariana Grande‘s office decoration.
