Skeet Ulrich Reportedly Set to Return For ‘Scream 7’

‘The seventh installment of “Scream,” a highly anticipated horror movie, has faced some production challenges so far. Originally directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, they parted ways in August 2023. Later, lead actresses Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega also decided to leave the project in November.’

In March 2024, it was officially announced that Neve Campbell would rejoin the ‘Scream’ series following her absence in ‘Scream VI.’ Previously known screenwriter-producer Kevin Williamson, from the initial ‘Scream’ movies, has been appointed as the director for this upcoming installment.

Although the specifics of the plot remain under wraps, Neve Campbell has disclosed that the upcoming movie will primarily center around Sidney and her family, moving away from the narrative involving the Carpenter sisters as seen in the 2022 release ‘Scream’ and the 2023 release ‘Scream 6’.

Based on reports from trusted industry source Daniel Richtman, who shared this on his Patreon page, it appears that Skeet Ulrich may rejoin the franchise, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

Skeet Ulrich is an esteemed American actor, particularly recognized for his role as Billy Loomis in the 1996 film ‘Scream’. Notably, he portrayed the initial Ghostface killer in this movie. Beyond that, Ulrich has made appearances on the series ‘Riverdale’, where he plays FP Jones, Jughead’s father.

In the narrative I’m following, I find Courteney Cox portraying Gale Weathers, while Mason Gooding steps into the role of Chad Meeks-Martin. Fresh faces joining the scene are Isabel May as Sidney’s daughter, accompanied by Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, McKenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Mark Consuelos, and Anna Camp.

‘Scream 7’ is scheduled to be released in the United States on February 27, 2026.
