Will Smith Stars in The Matrix?! (It’s Not What You Think)

Approximately two weeks ago, Will Smith sparked excitement online with a video hinting at his potential involvement in a fresh take on “The Matrix“. Later, it was disclosed that this was actually a prelude for “Beautiful Scars”, a new song and music video collaboration with Big Sean. Although some felt deceived by the initial tease, I found it an effective tactic to draw attention. Given their shared affinity for inspirational hip-hop, a team-up between them seems fitting. Notably, Big Sean has authored a book on success, which is highly appreciated. Now, the music video for “Beautiful Scars” by Will Smith and Big Sean has been released, showcasing tributes to the original “The Matrix” movie.

Although Big Sean’s surname is Anderson, he doesn’t play Neo in this video. The scenario starts with Big Sean and Will Smith positioned opposite each other, reminiscent of Neo and Morpheus from the iconic “red pill or blue pill” scene. Here, Big Sean offers Will a choice: take the blue pill to keep his life as it is, or take the red one to rectify his most significant career blunder.

Instead of choosing the red pill, as expected, we get a glimpse into what it might have been if Will Smith had played Neo in The Matrix. This sneak peek appears to be a blend of scenes filmed by Will and actual sequences from the movie itself, such as the “bullet time” effect and the fighting simulation. Take a look at some captivating images from Will Smith and Big Sean’s Matrix-themed music video.
