Netflix Removes 2025 Release Date for Live-Action ‘One Piece’ Season 2 After Apparent Leak

It seems that the initial confirmation about Season 2 of the live-action “One Piece” series on Netflix, which was originally slated for 2025, appears to have vanished from the Netflix TUDUM site. The announcement had been made as part of a collaboration with LEGO, but now the release year no longer appears in the related article on the website.

It’s uncertain as to why Netflix altered their post. Perhaps they disclosed the release date prematurely, or maybe it wasn’t fixed yet. Regardless, the modification has left us pondering when exactly Season 2 will be available.

The upcoming season is looking incredibly exciting, with more than 20 fresh actors joining the cast and previews of Drum Island and Chopper revealed last September. Creator Eiichiro Oda has hinted that this season will surpass the first one in quality, and Jeff Ward recently suggested it might still premiere by the end of this year.

Matt Owens and Steven Maeda continue their roles as the main creatives, writing, overseeing, and executively producing the show. Additionally, Oda plays a significant part in maintaining the authenticity of the adaptation, keeping it faithful to the essence of the original source.

Newcomers to the cast are David Dastmalchian playing Mr. 3, Campus Johnson taking on the role of Mr. 5, Clive Russell as Crocus, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Joe Manganiello portraying the Crocodile, and Charithra Chandran embodying Vivi. Many more are joining this thrilling journey, each adding their unique flair to the universe of One Piece.

The debut of One Piece occurred on August 31 and it turned out to be an enormous success, climbing to the peak of Netflix’s worldwide English TV rankings. It amassed a staggering 18.5 million views and a colossal total of 140.1 million hours spent watching. Remarkably, it maintained its number one position in the second week as well.

The principal characters are coming back, with Iñaki Godoy portraying Luffy, Mackenyu playing Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp. With the upcoming season generating a lot of buzz, the only thing left to know is when Netflix will officially announce the release date.
