Adeline Rudolph and Arden Cho are all set to appear in the psychological thriller titled “Perfect Girl”. This movie takes place within the competitive realm of K-pop, skillfully directed by Hong Won-ki (known for “Goedam”). Production is being handled by Badlands, an independent label specializing in genre films, with John Wick producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, as well as former Sony executive Scott Strauss, involved in the project.
As a fusion of both “Scream” and “Black Swan,” the captivating series “Perfect Girl” chronicles the journey of an emerging K-pop supergroup on the brink of their debut. These gifted young ladies have dedicated years to their craft, but with only four coveted positions left and the final decision looming in a mere week, stress levels are at their peak.
Tension builds as an enigmatic new recruit shows up just before deadline, followed swiftly by team members mysteriously vanishing. With each girl scrabbling to secure her position, the key query arises: who orchestrates these assaults, and which ones will ultimately be chosen for the final roster?
Lynn Q. Yu’s script was selected for the 2023 Black List, a yearly compilation of top-tier unproduced screenplays in Hollywood. Hong, with experience in music video production via Zanybros, intends to infuse the narrative with a tense psychological aspect while maintaining an accurate representation of K-pop. The movie’s soundtrack will include original tracks from popular K-pop groups Sunshine and Moonshine.
Scott Strauss, one of the movie’s producers, conveyed assurance about the casting, stating, “Following a thorough search, we’ve finally found the ideal main characters for ‘Perfect Girl’.
Adeline Rudolph, set to feature in ‘Mortal Kombat 2’, has had roles in shows like ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’, ‘Resident Evil’, and ‘Riverdale’ in the past. More recently, Arden Cho, best known for her work on ‘Teen Wolf’, has been seen in ‘Partner Track’ on Netflix and will appear in ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’.
