In the seventh episode of Agatha All Along, Lilia Calderu’s heartrending sacrifice was one of the most impactful pop culture moments in 2024. It served as a poignant goodbye to the coven’s beating heart and soul. This farewell was fitting for a legend like Patti LuPone. And unlike many departed characters in superhero stories, Lilia’s death appears to be permanent. According to LuPone, showrunner Jac Schaffer has indicated that Agatha All Along will not have a second season, much like her previous series WandaVision. So, it seems there will not be an Agatha All Along season two, as far as we know from Patti LuPone’s statements.
Only, Schaffer’s cited reason is why we think she’s not done with her MCU witches just yet.
During an interview on Andy Cohen’s podcast “Andy Cohen Live” (as reported earlier at The Wrap), Patti LuPone shared some Marvel Cinematic Universe news. She revealed that she found out Lilia wouldn’t make it through the Witches’ Road, and Schaffer informed her about this in her trailer. When LuPone expressed a desire to be involved in “Agatha All Along” season two, Schaffer told her there would not be one.

As reported by LuPone, Schaffer stated that she doesn’t participate in second seasons. Furthermore, Marvel Studios requested her to reprise her role for another season of “Agatha All Along” and “WandaVision,” but she declined because she felt there was too much content to create. So, unfortunately, it seems like there won’t be a second season for both “Agatha All Along” and “WandaVision.” However, let’s keep our fingers crossed for some positive updates in the future!
Instead of worrying that there won’t be more of “Agatha All Along,” it’s better to stay hopeful given the events following “WandaVision.” Even if another season doesn’t materialize, creator Schaffer might still have tales to spin about Agatha in the MCU. “Agatha All Along” functioned as a distinct TV follow-up to “WandaVision,” and much like its precursor, it ended with unfinished business. Ghost Agatha departed with Billy on a quest to find his missing sibling. Our prediction is that Schaffer will return with an entirely fresh, interconnected series that serves as a sequel to her sequel. This new show could unfold like a trilogy for television.
As a cinephile, I can’t help but speculate that the upcoming film might bear the title of Wiccan, serving as the final installment in the Harkness Trilogy. And here’s hoping that Patti LuPone, who has enchanted us so profoundly, may find herself reprising her role, even if it’s not for a second season of Agatha All Along. Remember, this is still a universe brimming with superheroes. Given the MCU’s penchant for mystical characters, Death herself being a witch, it wouldn’t be surprising if she used her influence to grant another chance to an acting legend like LuPone, who has left an indelible mark as Lilia Calderu in our minds.
