Lady Gaga is returning to her roots!
Following a string of hints posted on her official website, Gaga, aged 38, unveiled on Monday, January 27th that her seventh studio album titled “Mayhem”, comprising 14 songs including the pre-released tunes ‘Disease’ and ‘Die With a Smile’, featuring Bruno Mars, is set for release on March 7.
In a statement, the Grammy-winning artist announced that her upcoming project, Mayhem, represents a fresh take on reconnecting with her musical roots. She explained that this return to pop music, beloved by her longtime fans, initially felt daunting. Comparing the process of making the album to piecing together a shattered mirror, Gaga stated that while the outcome may not perfectly resemble the original, it ultimately becomes something unique and charming in its idiosyncratic way.
According to the announcement, “Mayhem” focuses on themes of “disorder and change,” emphasizing music’s ability to bring people together, stimulate emotions, and promote healing.
Fans eagerly anticipating new music from Lady Gaga won’t have to wait much longer. She is scheduled to premiere the third single off her upcoming album, titled “Mayhem,” along with its music video during a commercial break at the 2025 Grammy Awards on February 2nd. The full tracklist for “Mayhem” will be revealed at a later time.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times back in December 2024, I hinted at my upcoming album, LG7, revealing that it would encompass a wide array of musical genres and styles, reflecting my diverse creative influences.
It hops between different genres in a manner that’s nearly unconventional, and ultimately concludes with themes of love. This, according to Gaga, is the key to understanding the turmoil in her life – finding tranquility through love.
Mayhem is just the start of what’s poised to be a busy year for Gaga.
Starting from January 30, she will perform alongside artists such as Joni Mitchell, Olivia Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish at FireAid, a concert aimed at helping people and communities affected by the persistent fires in Los Angeles. Later, on March 17, she is set to receive the Innovator Award at the 12th iHeartRadio Music Awards. Following this recognition, she has concerts scheduled for April 11 and 18 at Coachella.
Mayhem is available for preorder now.
