The dispute promptly sparked a wave of public protest, causing ABC to abruptly end the popular show ‘Roseanne’ within mere hours. Following the controversial tweet, Barr expressed regret, yet the harm was already inflicted, leading the network to cut ties with her.

The termination of ‘Roseanne’ was a pivotal event, since it was among ABC’s most successful programs at that point, and the choice to pull it off the air represented a both fiscal and cultural stance by the network. Following its cancellation, ABC debuted a spin-off series titled ‘The Conners,’ which carried on without Barr’s character.

It appears now that she’s gearing up for a return to the spotlight, as Barr has disclosed her collaboration with Allan Stephan on a fresh comedy series. This project, featuring Barr in the lead role, is expected to hit the market shortly. The series, adhering to the U.K.’s comedic style, will consist of 4 to 6 episodes.

She portrayed it as a fusion of ‘The Roseanne’ series and ‘The Sopranos,’ revolving around a small-town Alabama farmer who takes on the task of protecting the United States from drug cartels and China, all while participating in illicit activities such as cultivating marijuana and magic mushrooms.

Barr characterized the upcoming series as featuring “extremely provocative themes and plenty of profanity.” She went on to say that it mirrors her real-life experiences on a farm in Hawaii, where she resides with her daughter, husband, and their six kids, as well as goats wandering throughout their home. Barr further stated, “They safeguard America through guns, the Bible, petty misconduct, and alcoholism,” implying that the atmosphere is similar to a “Coen brothers style.

What surprises me is their willingness to forgo earnings and then justify this to the shareholders who seem content with such losses.

The actress is presently hosting “The Roseanne Barr Podcast” and making appearances on shows such as “Club Random With Bill Maher.” When asked about potentially returning to ABC, she responded bluntly, “Absolutely not.” In talking about other offers in Hollywood, Barr showed a lack of interest, stating, “I don’t care one way or another.” She also mentioned that she would like to be generously compensated for reinvigorating another network but was skeptical they could refrain from meddling with her projects.
